Blue Wing International www.bluwing.com, a company founded by Dr. Alfredo Lopez a native Costa Rican physician, has been in existence for 25 years and has been guiding groups on eco, birding, fishing and hunting trips for the entire time. We have guided people from all over the world into Central and South America, Africa, Alaska, Canada etc. But Central America is our home!
Bushmaster Jungle Survival School was founded in 2006 as a result of many inquiries in the past five years for; some one to train and a place to train, the survival techniques required to live ¨in the bush¨ for a week or so or until rescued. Dr. Alfredo Lopez having already experienced this ordeal and subsequently re-enacting the same for the Science Channel in a series called ¨Survival Science¨ decided to utilize the tools already available.
A lodge in the Nicaraguan jungle (Rio Indio Adventure Lodge www.rioindio.com) and the availability of several trusted, indigenous and local Rama Indians who have acted as our mentors for many years. Two of our Rama guides have taught the French Foreign Legion survival techniques in a jungle environment in the past. Combined with the knowledge and experience of a close friend who is a former US Special Forces, Ranger, Airborne and an Instructor at the Jungle Warfare School in Panama for several years the tools were in place to open Bushmaster Jungle Survival School Nicaragua.
